Blake Griffin does exactly what he wants. He wanted a car to jump over in the dunk contest this past year. Did that. He wanted to host a talk show with a hilarious sidekick (Andy Richter). Did that. And most importantly, he wanted to prove to the world that the he could live up to his otherworldly hype. Did that.
The 2011 NBA season was a wonderful season for him as he took the home the Rookie of the Year award, was crowned the Slam Dunk champion, and proved the negative comments wrong.
Not only did he prove that he was not injury-prone, but he played in all 82 games and recorded 63 double doubles this season. He averaged 22.5 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists a game.
